
Alaskan Baked Halibut Recipe
Ingredients:
halibut steaks
sliced onion
sour cream
mayonnaise
salt & pepper
green onion tops
shredded cheese – your choice
Directions:
Prepare the halibut steaks by removing all tinges of brown meat. It will improve the taste of the fish. Rinse and drain the excess water.
Rub a film of butter or oil across the bottom of a baking dish. Prepare a bed of onion slices on which to lay the salt and peppered fish steaks.
Mix equal parts sour cream and mayonnaise (amounts of sour cream and mayo depend on how much fish you are baking) and cover the fish with the mixture.
Sprinkle the fish with cheese and diced green onion tops.
Bake at 400º F for 10 – 20 minutes or until fish flakes with a fork
This halibut recipe makes a fine dish which goes well with rice, salad and bread. You can use a variety of spices such as chives, paprika, or lemon pepper.
